What I really love is making a genuine connection with the people I'm lucky enough to photograph. Then with some minor direction and a little anticipation, you can really find that blend of epic and intimate. Those little in-between points in time that show you in your comfort zone, but also at your best. I know I've done a good job when people tell me they didn't even remember one of these moments happening, let alone me being there! I’ve also sold stuff in galleries and had photos published here and there, but to be frank, I have a far better memory of who I’ve photographed!

    Favourite Place to Shoot: Oh gosh, I'm terrible at picking favourites, but I could probably struggle towards a top 3: North Chesterman Beach for the variety; Schooner Cove for the seclusion; and the rainforest for the light.

Three Things

  1. Variety is probably one of my biggest loves - whether it's tasting new foods, seeing new places or meeting new people. After leaving London 14 years ago and working in over a dozen countries, change really became the routine.
  2. I suppose one thing I couldn't live without is my sense of perspective. Ooh, and cheese!
  3. Apparently I'm the guy people open up to. Strangers, friends..it doesn't seem to matter! I also have a reputation for taking a long time to get anywhere, as I get distracted by little things on the path. But when you see a cool shell or leaf, why not stop to appreciate it?
