Meet Ryan A. in Perth
For families, couples and portraits, I enjoy a natural and photo-journalistic style of photography, to really capture the reality and raw emotion of life. I am also a commercial photographer, where lighting control is key. My work has received four silver awards over the past two years from the Australian Institute of Professional Photography, for images in the Wedding, Portrait and Commercial categories. I also like to pass on my passion of photography through educational programs and workshops, teaching through Edith Cowan University, where I studied, plus other independent workshops. I also spent time photographing and teaching photo-journalism abroad; most recently in China, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

Three Things
- Before photography, my creative outlet was through music. I was a drummer in several bands and a solo acoustic musician for six years before I settled down to study at university and changed my career and life focus to being a professional photographer.
- I can't live without my friends and my family. They are such an integral support network for all aspects of my life, and keep me motivated and driven to pursue my dreams and experience amazing things.
- I have a small Star Wars obsession which has created a giant collection of toys that are on display in my studio which always becomes a talking point when people come to visit. I've stopped buying them myself, but friends keep adding to the collection!
