Meet Amari in Honolulu

After moving to Hawaii from Southern California in 2018, I instantly fell in love with the island's beauty and photographing people here with their loved ones. I am a patient and kind person with a passion for showing people how beautiful they are through my photos. My focus is on telling their story through my photos. My photography background is in fashion and editorial which is reflected in the boldness and vibrance of my images. I have been featured in many publications including, British Vogue, Tatlers, Wedding Chicks, The Knot, Modern Luxury Hawaii and Hawaii Wedding Style. Additionally, I was also named the Best Photographer in Honolulu by Expertise 2022 and 2023 and received awards for Best of the Knot.

Favourite Place to Shoot: I love shooting on the West side in places like Ko'olina Paradise Cove, Maili Beach Park and Nanakuli. The colors on the West side are gorgeous and it really has a unique "wow" factor. It also doesn't rain as often as the East Side.

Three Things

Before becoming a photographer I had a string of unique jobs, including live-streaming video games on Twitch and working as a 911 dispatcher for a police station in Santa Ana. I have a degree in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations.
When I'm not taking photos, binge-watching Netflix or playing video games, my husband and I like adventuring and exploring new parts of the island and doing surf photography. Even though the island is small, there's always something new to discover.
I grew up fighting MMA for most of my teenage years. I still love to fight but don't get to do it very often.
