Travel Story

Coming to Japan was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. The origin of the trip was for business, but I knew I wanted to take every free minute to explore on my own as well. I loved how Tokyo seemed to sparkle in the sunlight early in the morning, the friendliness of the people, and of course the amazing food and fashion! I had a few busy work days that took me to different regions, such as Yamagata, but my free time in Tokyo was spent wandering the streets and finding beautiful parks, statues, and shrines. Though I’d never planned to fall in love in Japan, I’m already brainstorming a second trip so that my husband can experience the beauty of this amazing country with me.

Travel Tips

I could have eaten sushi for every meal morning, noon and night. I also loved stocking up on snacks and candies from the local Family Mart. I was able to take a trip to Tokyo DisneySea and was amazed by the unique merch, rides, scenery and snacks at the park! My tip would be: don’t be scared to get outside your comfort zone. I navigated both the bus and train stations with much help from locals - even those who didn’t speak English guided me to where I needed to be and I was able to make some amazing memories.
