Travel Story

When I realized that my 40th birthday was coming up, I knew I had to celebrate it in a big way, and how much bigger can you get than spending a month in Italy? I spent September eating, drinking, and sightseeing my way through Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Sardinia, and Sicily, and I enjoyed every moment. The people I met were warm and friendly, the food and wine were amazing, and the sights took my breath away. I can't wait to go back!

Travel Tips

I definitely recommend taking a cooking class (or more than one, I did mine in Taormina, Sicily). For the big sights like the Vatican and the Colosseum I can't recommend highly enough taking a guided tour so that you get an "express" entry and don't spend hours waiting in line to get in. Do food tours wherever you can, you'll be introduced to all kinds of foods/wines/restaurants that you would never have found on your own. For really tasty food, head to Trastevere and the Jewish quarter.
