South America tour 2019!

Travel Story

Experiencing Carnival in Brazil has been on our travel to do list for years. 2019 was the year South America fit into our busy schedules and we jumped right in and partied like the Cariocas do in Rio! Besides going to the world famous Sambadromo and watching the parades, we danced with Grande Rio, one of the elite samba schools in Brazil and competed with them dancing down the 700 meter stadium in hopes to win the top title of the year! Our afternoons were spent on picturesque beach on Ipanema taking in the breathtaking views of the Dois Irmaos mountains and reveling in the crowded chaos of the Blocos (street parties)! We have so many fantastic memories from this beautiful city, my top ones including the magic ball at the Copacabana Palace, dancing down the Sambadromo with Grande Rio, the iconic sunsets from the Fasano rooftop, the views of Copacabana beach and Ipanema beach and Christ the Redeemer from Sugarloaf mountain.
