Travel Story
When our kids turn 18, we take them on a religious pilgrimage to a foreign country. I chose Germany and Austria during the Christmas season to visit Christmas markets, beautiful churches, religious sites and enjoy one another's company before she graduates high school. We traveled to Cologne, Walldurn, Heidelburg, Nuremburg, Munich, Melk, Salzburg and Vienna.
Travel Tips
If you're going during the winter, dress warm by wearing lighter layers. Get yourself some insulated and waterproof shoes along with some wool socks, a hat, gloves and some rechargeable handwarmers! When you're cold, you're miserable and you don't enjoy anything. In Munich we loved the beer hall, Hofbrau. And, I think the 300+ stairs to the top of St. Peter's to see the views of the city was absolutely worth the 5 euro!
