How did you meet?

What is your love story?

Our first date was at a local bar and it was effortless! The conversation flowed easily and naturally and we were both eager to know more about each other. I was immediately captured by her beautiful smile, intelligence, and great sense of humor.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Travel has been an important part of our relationship, so I knew I wanted to propose on a trip and Costa Rica just happened to be the destination we chose for this time of year. We both love hiking and nature. We spent 10 days across La Fortuna, Monteverde, and Tamarindo. Ultimately, I decided to propose in Tamarindo because of the beautiful beach setting. I didn’t want to worry about logistics for the proposal- just on Marissa and asking the most important question of our lives.

What is your proposal story?

We drove from Monteverde to Tamarindo in the morning, checked into our hotel, and I told Marissa to get ready for a special, romantic walk on the beach followed by dinner. Despite getting a little lost getting out of the hotel, we made it to the beach just in the knick of time, where there was a beautiful private beach picnic and flowers waiting for her. I led her towards the picnic, and Marissa asked “is that for us?” and the happy tears started. She held it together though and I took her hand and walked down to the water with her, telling her on the way how much she means to me and how I’ve waited my whole life to find a love like ours. I got down on my knee, and thankfully, she said yes!!
