Mallard Cottage, it has the most beautiful scenery being in Quidi Vidi and the food was incredible!
Walking around Water Street in downtown St. John’s, visiting Quidi Vidi and Petty Harbor to see the fishing boats, and driving around the Avalon peninsula to see the coastal views.
Be flexible! The weather can change quickly, and being near the cliffs on a windy day isn’t safe for the kiddos (our trip happened to be when the St. John’s area got hit by the remnants of Hurricane Earl). The Johnson Geo Centre is a great rainy day activity. Be sure to rent a car so you can check out other areas in the province (but book it early—there’s limited availability on the island).

St. John's Fish Exchange has a lovely staff, atmosphere and is a great treat for someone looking for an authentic Newfoundland cuisine. YellowBelly Brewery is a great casual option that also has some history down below. Make sure to check out the "Underbelly" which used to be a Speakeasy back in the day. If you are looking for a good brunch option, check out The Rooms. It is at the top floor of the museum where you can learn about more rich, Canadian history of the area!
Some of our favourite things to do are hike and take photos and our best recommendations for that include the North Head Trail up near Signal Hill, exploring Quidi Vidi and the Sugarloaf path, and Cape Spear Lighthouse (the Easternmost point in North America) and that section of the East Coast Trail.
Visit Signal Hill at sunset and see the city lit up at night! Also you can check out Quidi Vidi Brewery for a romantic drink and live music. :)
Visiting Petty Harbour (recommended by our Flytographer photographer) ended up being one of our favorite things in the city!
