Cactus Garden
City oasis | San Jose, United States
Right on Stanford University's beautiful campus, within the Arboretum, this small botanical garden specializes in cactus and succulents — and it's open to the public, daily, without a charge. They have hundreds of different species divided into two sections: the Eastern Hemisphere contains plants from Europe, Asia, and Africa, and the Western Hemisphere contains the natives of the Americas. This quiet spot is even more magical because of the ever-chirping birds. Longer bookings (30 minutes or more) can also include the nearby Stanford Mausoleum and the Angel of Grief statue.
