He took me onto a private beach where we can drive our cars on, pretended to take a picture with the self-timer even though he was recording a video. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

What is your love story?

Iris and I met studying abroad in Argentina. It was a very small group that was there for the summer and we instantly clicked. We had a lot of fun together and started dating soon after I came back home after staying the full summer. I knew she was the one after dating for a few months and we went out to dinner. She asked me about my day, like many times before, and I finally realized that she was genuinely interested in my day. It is still a shock to me how much she is fascinated with my every action. She is the most caring and loving person I have ever met, and so glad that I am able to call her mine.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

It was a spring vacation that we planned about 6 months in advance. She is at law school and I work with a general contractor and move across the country every so often. I wanted to be engaged, before my next assignment which would separate us for a few years. The week before our trip, my assignment came in and we would no longer have the summer together. I was moving almost immediately within the month. I immediately called her parents asking for the blessing and enlisting them to get Iris's nails done. Soon after I went to every jeweler in town and got a beautiful ring together in a few days.

What is your proposal story?

It was a fairytale proposal that left her starstruck. The plan was to walk down the beach to go to a very nice dinner. I said I had made early reservations (5 pm) so we would have good lighting for the pictures. We would be dressed up and then Alfredo would take a picture giving me the opportunity to propose. She loved the ring, but the photo session was a very close second! Luckily she was surprised with the proposal, but I knew the photo session would really do the trick. The proposal was perfect, but I stupidly made the fake reservation for the exact same time as Alfredo was suppose to walk by us on the beach. We ended up getting there early because that is what you do for a nice reservation. Well the restaurant is closed at 5pm.... I made a small apology before urging a few more pictures and Alfredo came up offered to take it in the nick of time.
