What is your love story?

We reconnected 6 years after originally meeting in Business School. Our first date was a walk around the dog park which was only intended to be about an hour long, but ended up extending 3 hours because we had so much to catch up on. Our conversation felt extremely natural and felt like we just picked up where we left off. We fell hard and fast. Soon we were travelling to Mexico on our first vacation, attending countless weddings, and buying our first house within a year of officially dating. We knew without a doubt that we had a "Notebook" kind of love that was once in a lifetime.

What made you choose this proposal destination?

We love the outdoors and going on adventures! I really wanted to go on a hike or walk to somewhere with a beautiful landscape/mountainous background and surprise Larysa with a proposal. It was important that I had a photographer capture the moment for us (before and after “yes”).

What is your proposal story?

It was the day after we arrived in Scottsdale on vacation for a friend's trip to celebrate our 30th birthdays. I really wanted to be able to have my friends and family be there to celebrate the proposal with us so I decided to let them all in on the secret so that they could help me orchestrate the entire thing. I mentioned to Larysa that we should dress up nice, go for a walk to see the sunset and then have a cocktail at a nearby restaurant. Larysa had absolutely no idea it was coming because the entire group was there to participate in the photos. Little did she know I deviated from the group, led her up to the platform and proposed! Whitney captured it all, which was perfect!

Best tip for proposing in Phoenix

I am really glad we chose to do it at Sunset. The pictures turned out amazing! I would just be careful not to choose a path with too many people as lots of people use the trails.

Brandon & Julia's Proposal Story in Phoenix

How did you meet?

School

What is your love story?

Julia was the first person I met at Creighton University and developed a great friendship. Fast forward a few years, I was living in Chicago and traveled back to Omaha for my sister's undergraduate graduation. It just so happened that Julia was also celebrating her doctorate graduation that same weekend where we bumped into each other at a bar. From the point, we started texting and talking more until we decided to make it official! We always knew we were "the one" for each other and throughout the years, our mothers would always say: "well, what about Julia/Brandon?" I guess our mothers were both right - it was meant to be!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

Desert Botanical Garden is such a beautiful place. It was the perfect destination that would allow for my family to hide while also being able to see the proposal happen.

What is your proposal story?

I chose the weekend of Julia's parent's wedding anniversary so that we could tell her that they wanted to go to the Desert Botanical Garden for "Christmas photos." This way, I knew she would be dressed up, have her nails done, etc. Long story short, this allowed me to help her pick out the dress (that matched my outfit) so that we would look great in the photos!

Desert Botanical Garden! There are endless backdrops & locations within the garden that will result in beautiful pictures.
