We enjoyed a variety of restaurants during our visit, but one of our favorites was Farm for Sunday brunch. The outdoor setting, along with the food was such a nice experience for us.
There are lots of great places to visit in and around Palm Desert that include Joshua Tree National Park, The Living Desert, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, Palm Springs Air Museum, Palm Springs Art Museum and Moorten Botanical Garden. Or if you're looking for a more relaxing experience, you can always lounge around poolside or play a round of golf.
There are lots of kid-friendly things to do in Palm Desert and while there there is no bad time to visit, I would avoid the Summer months of July and August at all costs if you've never felt dry Summer heat before or can't bear it! Traveling here during the Fall, Winter and Spring will be much more pleasant.

Joshua Tree National Park, the Palm Springs living zoo, and the JW Marriott.
The Palm Springs living zoo is the best zoo we have been to! Easy to navigate, lively animals, and great attractions mostly all shaded.

Pink Cabana- it’s a groovy, funky place with a cool laid back vibe and very photo worthy. The food and cocktails were to die for.

We looved staying in a glamping tent about 15 minutes from the park. The lazy sky retreat!
We looked for easy hikes, took plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen. We had the best time!

I have so many recommendations for Palm Desert! You must go to the Ritz for a drink at sunset, dinner at Il Corso on El Paseo, shopping at Cabazon Outlets, watch a Polo match in Indio, dancing at the Nest, and a hike along the Art Smith Trail (which we discovered thanks to Flytographer!).
