Xcunyá
Colonial-era allure | Mérida, Mexico
Though only a small village, Xcunyá, just a short drive from Mérida, offers a great glimpse into the culture and history of the Yucatán Peninsula. The most notable attraction in town is the beautiful colonial-era church known as the Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción, boasting stunning architecture and intricate details. Not too far away is the abandoned hacienda. This once-grand farming estate now stands in ruins, but its crumbling walls are utterly intriguing and mysterious — as well as a great photo background!
