Our children went to Bacchus in M'dina and they said that was by far their favorite restaurant of the entire trip. They loved the atmosphere and the food and thoroughly enjoyed their evening.
We did a full day sailing trip with Sailing Charters Malta and we had a perfect May day for this excursion. We also did dune buggies with Gozo Quad Hire and this was one of my favorites. We had a guided 1/2 day tour and we drove on the streets of GOZO which was quite an experience considering they drive on the opposite side of the road than the US. We took a private cooking class at Diar il-Bniet where we made our own lunch. This was a great bonding experience and this was one of the nicest restaurants I saw the entire trip. But by far without a doubt the absolute favorite of all 8 or us was a private dinner with Heritage Malta at St Angelo Mansions, Ex-Naval Bakery Vittoriosa Waterfront. It was at a Maritime Museum that was actually closed for renovations but open for these private dinners. Our host was the museum curator and he explained Maltese History as it relates to food. Our dinner was incredible and our host was amazing. He let us ask questions and as our group is varied in ages and ethnicity there were many different types of questions and he answered them all. I rate that 100 out of 10 for our group of people.
Our view from our hotel in sliema was beautiful. We stayed at 115 the strand and would highly recommend. If you come you definitely have to take a trip to Gozo. The waters were beautiful with the word environment. I recommend renting a scooter as it gave an exciting way to travel around the country.
Stay across the harbor from Valletta in quant and picturesque Birgu. The winding alleyways are the stuff of dreams and there are darling traditional boats that take you across the water for nearly nothing. It's a quiet part of town, but Old Bakery's Pizzaria on the water more than makes up for that! (Order the diavolo and a local chardonnay!!)
