What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?

By far this trip (we visit several times a year) the highlight other than pictures was visiting The Sphere and seeing the snow. It’s so unique (only one in the world) and the experience is incredible. Well worth the money, cannot recommend enough. Fremont Street-absolutely a must-see. The people watching alone makes it worth going downtown! Let’s face it, it’s where the cool people hang out :)

Chad's Travel Tips for Las Vegas

What are the best places to eat and drink in Las Vegas?

We had great dining experiences all around. On our first night, we at a Top of the World Restaurant at the Strat. The slowly rotating restaurant gave us a 360 degree of Vegas. Dinner, drinks and dessert were all delicious! Plus, we got to see some storms and lightning off in the distance, which was a fun sight to behold. For our second night, we booked a guaranteed window table at the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Paris Las Vegas resort. The table was a little small (I'm 6'4"), but the experience was a great one. Our server really took excellent care of us and the meal was delicious. We had an amuse bouche, split the cold salmon appetizer (smoky, buttery yumminess), and split the beef Wellington with potato gratin. They brought my husband a special dessert of chocolate mousse, but we also ordered the creme brûlée. Needless to say, we cleaned all the plates. Plus, we got to see the Bellagio water show 3 times while we were there. On our final night, we ate at SushiSamba in The Venetian. While the ambience was a bit loud and tables are close together, we had fun, got to chat with our neighbors about what they ordered and had a nice time all-around. Don't pass up the Wagyu Gyoza and the Robata Sea Bass with miso marinade. Both were out of this world. Thanks for the tip, Flytographer Ashley! ;)

What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?

Our photoshoot with Ashley was a fun experience and allowed us a chance to explore the Fremont experience and area. I booked 3 shows for the birthday weekend. We saw Awakening at Wynn, Ka (Cirque du Soleil) at MGM Grand, and Kelly Clarkson for her residency at Planet Hollywood (Bakkt Theatre). We really enjoyed all of these so much! The Sphere is a fun new addition to the skyline - it's neat to try and spot it as you are out and about on the strip.

What is the best tip for celebrating your birthday in Las Vegas?

We travelled to Las Vegas from Knoxville, TN, on Allegiant. The direct flight is around 4hrs and a nice way to get to Nevada for some fun. Planning ahead was the key to our great weekend. I used the OpenTable app to book several of our dining experiences. Always a good idea to be ahead of the game with those reservations. Flexibility and down-time is key. We were there during Hurricane Hilary and brought umbrellas with us. The temperature was nice and cool and we were more prepared than the average tourist to navigate the rain. We explored casinos and sights during the day, took an afternoon break/nap, then went back out for our evening activities. This was a nice pace for our time in Vegas.

What is the best tip for going on your honeymoon to Las Vegas?

Preplan all your dinner reservations as some are booked months in advance. If you are not totally into gambling and excessive drinking try to get out and see what nature has to offer. Park MGM is a smoke free hotel with mobile check in and out, TRUST me when I say this is amazing. The line ups for check in and out was insane and we got to skip it all.

Fat Tuesdays is a must if frozen drinks are your thing. They have locations all over the strip and downtown and you get discounted refills after you purchase a cup. It’s our favorite drinking spot in Vegas.

What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?
