His English is first-rate and he was always prompt in responding via WhatsApp in the run to the photo shoot to plan a route that would manage bloom conditions and the weather. We agreed a contingency alternative route in advance the event of the preferred route not being in full blossom and we chose to execute that one which would still mix the weeping cherry trees with scenes from Kyoto. We really benefited from the fact that he shoots many photos in these locations as he knew exactly where and how to get the best shots in Murayama Park, and later in a way that helped to avoid the worst of the Kyoto tourist crowds as the morning wore on. On the delivery, we were also impressed with the turn-around on the photos. Two weeks would have been more than acceptable at this busy time of year but we had our photos uploaded for us to access within a week. After reviewing his other work online, we had every confidence that we would be getting top-quality results. Needless to say, we were not disappointed with some memorable sakura shots, many more than was required under the photo-shooting terms. In all aspects, Coo did a superlative job for us, and we would happily recommend him to any other else looking to capture the beauty of Kyoto at this, or any other time of year. ”

I can’t begin to describe how he made our photos with a large group so comfortable, effortless, and ultimately beautiful. Firstly, he was very prompt and even found us in the crowd before the start of our scheduled shoot which helped ease the anxiety of making sure we were in the correct location. He was able to direct our large group in order to get great photos in varying combinations in different locations. He was so kind and patient and even accommodated our 5 year old who needed an ice cream break in the middle of the shoot. He was more than communicative which led to him suggesting a new location because he knew of a beautiful place where cherry blossoms were blooming. We could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our families memories. We will definitely book with him again the next time we are in Japan. ”

“ My fiancé and I recently had an engagement shoot with Coo (in Arashiyama Park, Kyoto), and the experience was absolutely incredible! From the first moment we connected, he provided thoughtful advice on timing, locations, and even the best ways to avoid the crowds. Coo’s background in weather forecasting was a huge help—he kept a close eye on the forecast and had suggestions ready for different scenarios, which made planning stress-free. We ended up moving our original start time and were so glad we did; we got the beautiful, peaceful atmosphere of Arashiyama almost all to ourselves. Despite this being our first professional photo session, Coo immediately put us at ease. Like other reviewers have mentioned, he is patient, personable, and genuinely wants to make sure you have fun. He gave clear directions and small, natural prompts that made us feel comfortable in front of the camera—so much so that we almost forgot we were being photographed. He also showed us a couple of shots on his camera throughout the session and asked for our input, which I really appreciated. It was wonderful to feel like we were collaborating rather than just posing. Much like other families and couples have shared in their reviews, I was impressed by Coo’s flexibility and quick communication. Any questions we had—whether about meeting points, transportation, or even great local food—he answered promptly. He had planned our route in Arashiyama so that we could capture both stunning natural scenery and some iconic cultural backdrops. It was obvious how familiar he was with the area, and he knew exactly where to position us for the best light and angles. The final photos exceeded our expectations. Every image had this effortless, romantic feel, and you can truly see the happiness on our faces. We’re so grateful to have these memories captured so beautifully, and it’s clear Coo pours his heart and soul into his work. From helping coordinate the perfect surprise moment (like he’s done for so many proposals) to entertaining families with little ones, it’s obvious why he and Yurika have so many stellar reviews. “ Cannot speak highly enough about our experience working with Coo to photograph our surprise engagement. From start to finish he offered great advice and guidance to make my proposal seamless and unforgetable. Leading up to the day, Coo provided unprompted insight into all the details that I should consider including the weather which he was able to give incredible depth of information on given a background in weather forecasting. He also provided tips on timing, what to expect in terms of crowds, how to surprise my fiance (by asking Coo if he could use my phone to take a photo of us as I got down on a knee, these photos also came out great and gave us something to look at while we waited for his photos to come through!) He was flexible leading up to the day, even suggesting other days and times given how poor the weather was expected to be on the day we had previously agreed on. He was willing to move our orginal scheduled time of 9am to 6 am to beat the crowds. This was our first time working with a photographer and he made the experience effortless and stress-free. Coo was continously supportive in the planning process and didn't stress about me being indecisive. I truly appreciate his unprompted guidance and how smooth it was to surprise my girlfriend without her knowing why he was there. The experience with the photoshoot after the initial proposal was also effortless, despite it being our first time with this sort of experience. We were able to just have fun together and every image Coo captured was better than we could have ever hoped for. So grateful to have had Coo be my support during this momentous ocassion. ”
