How did you meet?

What is your love story?

We met at work and had overlapping groups of friends. What I first noticed about her were her eyes that change color depending on the day. We eventually started secretly dating since we were coworkers, and when you know you know, there’s no other way to say it!

What made you choose this proposal destination?

A close friend who had visited the South of France a few years back mentioned a beautiful small town called Cassis, and after looking at photos it was clear it was the right place. Our photographer Lucille recommended the lighthouse as the perfect place to propose .

What is your proposal story?

Rebecca had spent a week in Switzerland prior to us meeting in France, and I had told her to be ready for a special date day our first full day together. We woke up early and got dressed up (I secretly sent a picture of us to Lucille so she could identify us). We traveled from Marseille to Cassis and Rebecca got really excited wanting to walk around the cafes and markers, so I had to rush to try and get her to the lighthouse on time without her realizing why. I felt really nervous when I Lucille and the lighthouse, but then Rebecca tripped on the cobblestone and fell making us both laugh and getting rid of my nerves. When we got to the lighthouse we started taking some selfies on her phone when (as planned) I approached Lucille asking if she could take some for us. She offered her professional camera instead, got us positioned with a beautiful background, and I got down on one knee. I couldn’t get through my speech and Rebecca was in complete shock. Lucille captured pictures of these special moments - from asking the question to her saying yes and putting the ring on her finger.

Best tip for proposing in Cassis

Definitely do it early in the day! I proposed at 9:30 a.m. and Cassis was absolutely empty of other tourists, and by the end of our shoot closer to 11 there was lots of other people around that would have gotten in the back of the photos.
