However, it was not yet raining hard, so we decided to move forward with the shoot and pray that the weather held off. Olya's attitude was fantastic, and she was willing to do whatever we wanted. We went forward with the shoot, and the results were magical. Olya's ideas were sensational. She knows the Gothic Quarter so well that she was able to get a lot of pictures. Our photos make it look like we are the only ones in the Gothic Quarter, but it was full of people, and they don't show up in our pictures. Olya was fun, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ended up taking photos in the Gothic Quarter, El Born, and the Port, and he really made sure we got a great variety of backdrops. There were a couple of hiccups with posing because of some translation issues, but honestly, don’t let that stop you from booking him. He has such a great eye for capturing beautiful photos, and it’s clear he knows what he’s doing. One of the coolest things about working with Orlando was that, as a native Spanish speaker, he knew exactly how to communicate with the locals so we could grab the perfect shot. That is something we definitely couldn’t have done on our own or with someone who is from spain. Plus, it feels good knowing we were supporting a local photographer and giving back to the community while traveling.
