Welcome to the land of rooftop pools.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Tulum the past few years, and it seems like it might be the new Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. Typically with the hype, comes the high prices, and herein lies Tulum’s hidden-gem appeal: it is a gorgeous beach paradise that backs onto lush jungle, dotted with Mayan ruins and cenotes to explore, and yet the cost per night is shockingly low, with fabulous accommodations available at even less than $100 per night. Looking to book a trip to this Mexican paradise ASAP? Here are our top picks for Airbnbs in Tulum:

Luxury Jungle Masterpiece
Villa LaGu is the most grand and expensive on our list, but totally worth the $813 per night (hear us out!). It is a five-storey, five bedroom, 5,758-square-foot designer villa with floor-to-ceiling windows of jungle views on every floor. From the curated artwork to the outdoor lounge and barbecue area to sunken living room to the private outdoor tub, every space in this Airbnb is Instagram-worthy. It’s the once-in-a-lifetime kind of stay you’ll never forget.

Aroma Tulum Junior Suite
This is our budget-friendly entry, but other than the price (which can go as low as $60 per night) there is nothing budget about it. It’s a mod junior suite with cool cement features (how often will you really be in there anyway?), but the common areas (rooftop pool, courtyard and bar) are going to make this place a fun stay for couples and friends who like to be more social.

The pool and the infrared sauna is just icing on the Tulum cake.

Villa Marusya
Unlike a lot of the new-builds on this list, we love the Villa Marusya for its colour and character. Bold orange, gorgeous green tile and plenty of wood craftsmanship and stone combine to create the most beautiful authentic Tulum stay. You won’t be able to stop yourself from instagramming the bathroom with its carved rock tub, and the space is huge—ideal for big families, bachelorettes and the like.

Boho Trendy Penthouse with Private Plunge Pool
Hashtag romance vibes! Inside, wicker basket mood lighting and sumptuous neutral textiles channel that Mexican craftsmanship (it’s like this place has been styled by a famous decor blogger), and there are lace hammocks and a jungle-surrounded private plunge pool for you to soak in with your morning coffee. Two beds, two baths—all for a hard-to-believe $120 per night.

Spectacular Split-Level Apartment with Amazing Giant Hammock
At first glance, this split-level apartment wows because of its house-like look. It’s huge, and has multiple floors, cool architecture and lots of natural light, but one of its wildest features is the massive mesh hammock that spans the ceiling of the living room. Think of the photos! Only in Tulum.
