To protect native wildlife and the environment, major U.S. National Parks usually don’t allow dogs. Luckily, the Grand Canyon, the crown jewel of them all, welcomes your best friend with open arms. Phew! 😂
Leashed doggies are allowed on trails above the rim, in Mather Campground, Desert View Campground, Trailer Village, and throughout developed areas. However, they aren’t allowed below the rim (on inner canyon trails). As long as you follow the B.A.R.K. rules (bag the poop, always wear a leash, respect wildlife, and know where you can go), you and your pup are in for an epic vacation amidst some of the most magnificent red rock formations on Earth. 🏜️
