Thanks to fate (or perhaps it was Hogwarts magic), Rachel’s planned solo trip to London ended up being her and her boyfriend’s first trip abroad together. Read on for their story and how they spent their magical time in London together.
“I actually planned for this to be a solo vacation because I had purchased one solo ticket to the sold out Harry Potter play. Little did I know that less than one week after I booked my flight, I would meet the love of my life! After we met and fell in love, Michael and I decided that he would join me on the trip to London as our first trip abroad together. Everything fell into place from there. And yes, after months of obsessively checking for tickets to the Harry Potter play, we were able to snag him one ticket about two weeks before the show. (It was all meant to be, I tell ya!)

“I’m so lucky to have a partner who will indulge me and let me be my true authentic self. He didn’t even judge me once when we went to the Harry Potter studio tour in Leavesden and I proceeded to take over 250 photos in one afternoon. (I absolutely needed those multiple photos of Hogwarts Castle from every different angle!) He was always patient, generous, and loving — and I’m relieved to know that we travel so well together!
“Honestly, it’s so hard to choose a favourite memory from our vacation because it was full of so many highlights. There was one moment, though, during our photoshoot, when Jimmy was taking photos from afar while Michael and I were talking to each other on the bridge in front of Big Ben. In that moment, when I was looking at this person I’m so in love with while we stood in front of this iconic landmark, I felt so lucky and loved. That feeling definitely comes through in the final image!
“As for our experience with Jimmy, he was a total pleasure to work with. He was able to help us get comfortable right away and his work was absolutely breathtaking. Not only is he so good at what he does, but he’s a solid person that I’d love to be friends with. That feeling really goes a long way in helping you to feel loose in front of the camera. I will 100% be working with Jimmy and Flytographer again in the future!” – Rachel
