1. Opunohu Bay

Opunohu Bay is a stunning lagoon cocooned by lush greenery and magnificent peaks, including the awe-inspiring Mt Rotui. ⛰️ This unspoiled paradise offers a tranquil atmosphere, especially in the mornings when it resembles a calm lake. That’s the perfect time for some kayaking and snorkelling to witness the island’s vibrant coral reefs. 🚣

Visitors usually explore the area and its surroundings on full-day or half-day tours soaking in the serene atmosphere. Opunohu Bay is a more secluded spot when compared to Cook’s Bay, which also boasts stunning natural beauty but it’s busier with restaurants and hotels, besides serving as a docking point for cruise ships and boats.

2. Ta’ahiamanu Beach

Located along the shores of Opunohu Bay, Ta’ahiamanu Beach is one of the few public beaches on the island and one of the best places to take pictures in Moorea. Despite being popular, Ta’ahiamanu Beach maintains a peaceful and intimate vibe. Its golden sand, towering coconut trees, and turquoise waters create the perfect spot for unwinding, basking under the sun, and taking postcard-worthy pictures in the best beach style. 🌴

One of the absolute highlights of Ta’ahiamanu is snorkelling. The beach’s transparent waters boast very active aquatic fauna and wonderful corals, meaning that visitors have the chance to spot turtles, stingrays, and a wide variety of colourful tropical fish. 🐠 It’s simply spellbinding! Even if this feels like an undiscovered paradise, there’s a parking lot across the road and changing facilities. Also very close to the beach is the Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa, which boasts picturesque over-water bungalows – a dream-like background for every photoshoot in Moorea. 😉

3. Temae Beach

On the northeastern part of the island, between a coconut plantation and the stunning blue and green lagoon, Temae Beach offers an idyllic setting for a day of kayaking, swimming, and snorkelling. The beach’s waters are home to a natural spectacle with a coral wonderland for tropical fish and even the occasional stingray. It’s like swimming in a life-size aquarium! 😍 For the more adventurous, renting a jet ski is a great idea to add a dose of adrenaline to a perfect day on the beach.

With its fine sand, swaying coconut palms, and shallow crystalline waters, Temae Beach is famous for being family-friendly and for its majestic landscape, thanks to the stunning view of the rugged mountain backdrop of Mount Orohena and the breathtaking panorama of the island of Tahiti. 🏝️ Temae Beach is one of the best places to take photos in Moorea!

Here’s a tip: treat yourself to a fruit cocktail at the adjacent Sofitel Hotel, which boasts overwater bungalows, perfect for fulfilling your Tahitian dream! 🍹

4. Hauru Public Beach

Located on the western coast of Moorea, the lovely Hauru Beach boasts soft sand, clear turquoise waters, stunning views, and a calm atmosphere. No wonder this is one of the best places to take pictures in Moorea. 👍 The beach is also a magnificent spot for families and friends to gather, with green areas for tropical picnics and perfect swimming and snorkelling opportunities. The area has a few resorts, restaurants, and stores, so you can expect great infrastructure surrounding Hauru Beach. However, for the best-secluded paradise feel and no crowds getting into your frame, it’s best to avoid weekends, as the beach is popular with locals and tourists since it’s easy to reach.

Another great option for beach lovers in Moorea is Tiahura Beach. This beach features a shallow lagoon frequently visited by sea turtles and stingrays. It was once a private beach for Club Med guests, but now it’s accessible to everyone, and this is also a great place for jet skiing and, of course, for a dream-like beach photoshoot. 👙

Rotui, and the lush Opunohu Valley, which is home to gorgeous pineapple plantations. 🍍 To get to the lookout, you can choose to hike through beautiful trails, take an electric bike, or even jump on a fun ATV ride. Along the way, you’ll get to enjoy the stunning flora and fauna of Moorea.
