Málaga

1. Parque de Málaga

This centenary park near the city centre is a lush and serene space with lots of incredible places to take photos in Malaga. Considered one of the most beautiful parks in Europe, Parque de Málaga boasts manicured Baroque and Renaissance gardens with gorgeous sculptures and fountains. The most eye-catching feature of this green heaven? Probably the several benches adorned with colourful Sevillian tiles, each unique in its design — you only need to pick your favourite to unleash your inner model! 💁‍♀️💁‍♂️

Another spot in town with lush backgrounds is La Concepción Botanical Garden. It features more than 50,000 plants from around the globe. Besides the scenic gardens, lakes, waterfalls, and walkways, La Concepción also boasts architectural gems such as a gazebo, an aqueduct, and the Stately Home, a classical-style villa atop a hill with the best views of everything. 😍

2. Gibralfaro and Alcazaba

In central Malaga, Mount Gibralfaro boasts two of the most impressive monuments in town: the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro Castle. 🏰 These monuments are some of the most impressive places to take photos in Malaga. 

Built in the tenth century, the Alcazaba of Malaga is a palatial fortification showcasing a dazzling blend of Roman, Moorish, and Renaissance features. Inside, you can explore the rooms where the city’s rulers once lived and admire the exquisite courtyards, arches, and columns. The palace is surrounded by lush greenery, which makes it even more stunning. 🌳🌿

Perched atop the hill, Gibralfaro Castle is famous for its several terraces and viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the city and the shimmering Mediterranean Sea.

While in the area, don’t miss the Roman Theatre close to the Alcazaba’s main entrance. This ancient structure provides more glimpses into Malaga’s history and fantastic backdrops for photos. 3. Historic Centre

While strolling through the historical centre of Málaga, you’ll discover photogenic spots at every turn: from the bustling Calle Larios with its stylish shops and cafes, to Plaza de la Constitución with its fountain and clock tower, and the iconic Malaga Cathedral, renowned for its intricate details and imposing facade. ⛪️

Besides its architectural grandeur, the area boasts exceptional cultural venues, such as the Centre Pompidou and Museu Picasso, both beloved by visitors and locals alike. Picasso, by the way, is a native of Málaga and was profoundly influenced by the local scenery — no doubt a testament to the city’s inspiring allure! 👨‍🎨 🎨

Marbella

This resort town on Spain’s Costa del Sol is famous for being a summer hangout for Europe’s aristocracy. 👑 Still, beyond its glitzy villas and hotels, you’ll find endless sandy beaches and an Old Town dotted with street art. Marbella truly has something for everyone. 👍

4. Parque de la Alameda

5. Mijas Pueblo

Close to both Malaga and Marbella, the small mountain village of Mijas Pueblo makes for an unforgettable day trip. This classic Andalusian village has a bullring at its centre, and its narrow, winding streets are lined with whitewashed houses complete with flowers, colourful doors, and vibrant details and other idyllic sights. In the cafes and restaurants, you’ll taste delicious tapas and experience the gentleness of a slower pace of life. 😉

While in town, be sure to check out Paseo de la Muralla, a scenic walkway offering views of the whitewashed houses cascading down the mountainside. 😮
